Society6.com/Alyssajane

I recently stumbled upon Society6.com, which for those of you who don't know, is a great community for artists to share their work with each other and the public.

You can like, promote and purchase prints (or other novelty items) from the site and support the artist at the same time.

Bonus: They ship to Canada! Yay!

I will be updating this periodically with new work but for now I wanted to share some of what is available on my profile at society6.com/alyssajane

There are more items available but these were some of my favourite ones.
If you're feeling extra nice today please feel free to click the "promote" button on my profile!

It Must Be The Sunshine...

The last couple days of rain have left me missing the hot weather we had last week. But that hasn't stopped me from reminiscing on some of my favourite summer things. Burgers & Sorbet.

Kettle Drums Restaurant & Bar opened up a couple of years ago but despite it being just down the road from my house - I don't go much. Here's the thing - The first time I went it was AMAZING. The Second time I went (about a year later) it was not so great. The food wasn't bad but the service was incredibly slow. I decided third time's the charm and had also heard it was under new management so we give it another shot.

Lisa and I headed down for dinner and I was really excited because despite the one poor experience, they serve their own Homemade Root Beer which is one of my favourite things on the menu next to the Sweet Potato Kettle Chips. It seems a little daunting at first because its a really light/clear colour which is the complete opposite of what you'd expect a root beer to look like, but its delicious nonetheless.

A New Hobby

About a month ago, out of nowhere, I decided that I wanted to get a sketch book and just start drawing. When I first purchased it I did a few sketches that looked no better than 4-year old Alyssa's drawing.

After doing a bit research (combined with a lot of free time while answering phone calls at work) I started trying to improve my skills to see what I was capable of.

I've always been into the arts and admired those who could paint, sculpt, draw or taking amazing photographs. Although I studied a bit of art, I never excelled in any particular field because I wasn't driven and had thus never really tried my hand at drawing.

So today I've decided to share some of the sketches that I've been working on in the past few weeks and hope to get some feedback so please leave a comment below with what you think!

Some of This, Some of That

This weekend was rather uneventful. Other than going for lunch with Kristen, the majority of my time was spent studying.
